All dogs can get hurt or sick. It is important to know how to minimise the severity by administering good basic first aid. The Dog Centre recommends a basic first aid kit containing the following:

  • Splint (suitable for your size of dog)
  • Bandages
  • Lint free gauze
  • Drinking Water

Arterial Bleeding / Laceration
Barbed Wire cuts / laceration
Bleeding
Bleeding Tail
Bleeding Tongue
Broken Back
Broken Bones
Broken Pelvis
Broken Ribs
Burns and scalds
Limb Severed / Loss (not salvageable)
Poisoning
Tar / Contaminents on Fur
Torn Dew Claw
Venous Bleeding / Laceration
