Symptoms

Forceful, pulsating, bright red blood visible.

First Aid

Clean wound thoroughly then use the least aggressive method that stems the blood flow:

• Direct pressure with clean cloth / gauze and bandage.
• Pressure applied ABOVE wound.
• Clamp large artery and get to vet quickly.

Notes

Arterial blood is pumped away from the heart.
