Symptoms
Constant flow, dark red / bluish blood visible.
First Aid
Clean wound thoroughly then use the least aggressive method that stems the blood flow:
- Direct pressure with clean cloth / gauze and bandage.
- Pressure applied BELOW wound.
- Clamp large vein and get to vet quickly.
Notes
Venous blood is pumped towards the heart.
